Lives and works in MIami, FL
Ivan “Shie” Moreno is an Afro-Cuban multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges painting, sound, performance, and ritual to explore the living connections between spirit, nature, and community. Rooted in Afro-Cuban cosmology, music, and storytelling traditions, Moreno creates immersive experiences that invite reflection, resonance, and dialogue across cultures and generations.
His evolving practice reimagines the Orishas and the elemental forces they embody, blending traditional symbolism with contemporary media such as motion-sensor technology, soundscape composition, and large-format painting. Drawing from his upbringing in Havana and his deep ties to Miami’s cultural landscape, Moreno’s work honors ancestral legacies while offering new pathways for engagement and interpretation.
Through his art and practices, Moreno aims to create spaces where viewers can connect with layered histories, spiritual frequencies, and the natural world.
